Pope Francis on Wednesday called on Christians to
await the coming of the Lord with trust and joy.
Speaking to crowds of pilgrims gathered in St.
Peter's Square for the Wednesday General Audience,
the Pope continued his catechesis on the Creed and
reflected on three Gospel texts that -- he said -- help
us to understand the mystery of the Last Judgment
and the second coming of the Lord. "Just as human
history began with the creation of man and woman
in the image of God" -- the Pope explained - "so it
will end with Christ's return and the final
