Pope Francis to Swiss Guards: fidelity and reciprocal help

Your presence is a sign of the strength and of the beauty of the Gospel, which in all times has called young people to follow its teachings. This was Pope Francis's message to the Pontifical Swiss Guards when he received them in audience this morning. The oath-taking ceremony for the new recruits takes place in the afternoon. In his discourse, the Pope asked the recruits and all those belonging to this special Corps, to always be attentive towards others, to notice when someone is in difficulty. "Be ready to listen and to be close to the other" the Pope said. "Pray for each other and put the communion you receive from Jesus and the Holy Eucharist into practice by helping each other".
