Freedom is not simply doing what you
want, "throwing everything you don't
like out the window. Freedom is given
so that we might know to make good
choices in life," as Mary did. Pope
Francis was speaking on Saturday
night in the Papal Basilica of Saint
Mary Major, where he prayed the
rosary after taking possession of the
church with the kissing of the Crucifix.
The icon of Mary Salus Populi Romani,
which Pope Francis venerated had
already venerated on March 14 -- just
hours after his election -- was placed on
the altar for the occasion. After the
