In our lives as Christians, we should remember that 

"God is always waiting for us, even when we have 

strayed! He is never far away, and if we return to 

him, he is ready to embrace." It 's the heart of the 

homily of Pope Francis in the installation Mass as 

Bishop of Rome, on Sunday evening, in his 

cathedral, the Basilica of St. John Lateran. 

Prior to the celebration in the square in front of the 

Vicariate, the Pope discovers the plaque changes its 

name to "Largo Blessed John Paul II." Then he gives 

the embrace of the many faithful at the Basilica and 

cuddling the disabled and sick people who are 

waiting for him inside.
