Before Jesus was betrayed and taken the the cross he prayed this prayer,

“Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me.

Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”

I don’t think Jesus wanted to go to the cross in that moment but he did it anyway.

His prayer captures the essence of what our prayer should be.

Tell God what you want, what you need, and confess that no matter what, you want his will to be done, not yours.

No matter what, God, I’m still down for you.

Paul writes this to us in Romans 12

“So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you:

Take your everyday, ordinary life -your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—

and place it before God as an offering.

Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.

The best thing we can do for God, is to embrace what God has done for us.

It’s all about him!

Today, don’t make the obstacles and problems in your life about you.

Embrace what he’s already done.

Pray the prayer of faith again.

His will, not yours.

Trust him.

Trust what he wants is better than what you want.

Even if you can’t feel or see it.
