The merciful Lord will surely forgive our sins if we turn to him in repentance. But this forgiveness is conditional - that is what the 'Our Father' says: "Forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone..." (Lk 11:4). In other words, "Do not forgive us if we don't forgive..." If we have not forgiven some wrong, let us do so now, so that we may be assured of our own forgiveness.
I will confess today the many ways in which my life is tainted by hypocrisy. I will attempt to live sincerely, forgiving all who have hurt me in any way.
