They were forced out of their homes because of violence or social instability. It's a reality a growing number of refugees are facing in Africa and in the Middle East. The UN's Central Emergency Respond Fund has taken notice.

With more refugees and armed conflicts, the UN recently announced it will assign $70 million dollars to respond appropriately.

"We have for instance on this occasion looked in Sudan and in the Horn of Africa, where both crisis -which continue- are in danger of being forgotten by comparison to some of the huge major crisis we have elsewhere in the world.”
In the Horn of Africa, humanitarian agencies in Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia will receive $33 million. In Somalia, over 730,000 people are in need of food and basic services. Sudan and Chad will also receive monetary assistance.
Children are among the refugees. In the Syrian city of Aleppo, nearly 200,000 people had no access to water. Supply was cut off due to the ongoing violence and power cuts.
To respond, UNICEF increased its water deliveries, from 800,000 to 2.5 million liters a day. It's a way to help the every day lives of those who lost everything from one day to the next...and now, are simply looking to survive
