Pope Francis announced a desire to visit the Italian city of Cagliari, in Sardinia, and in particular the shrine of Our Lady of Bonaria "probably in September'. The Pope explained that there is a link between the sanctuary and "his" Buenos Aires, due to the fact that the sailors who brought the founder of the city to Argentina were Sardinian and they wanted the city to be named after their Patron Saint, which from Bonaria became, over time, Buenos Aires.
